The World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) is to present its evidence-based research at an exclusive global health policy briefing hosted by Health Affairs journal in Washington, DC tomorrow.
Health Affairs, a leading peer-reviewed journal in the field of health policy research, aims to serve as a high-level, non-partisan platform to encourage analysis and discussion to improve health and healthcare, and to address issues such as cost, quality and access.
The forum, titled “Global Health: Patient Safety, Cancer Care, Universal Health Coverage and Innovation”, will explore major issues confronting the global health community, such as the effective implementation of universal health coverage and improving patient safety drawn from WISH’s portfolio of policy research in recent years.
A number of WISH leadership and WISH research forum chairs will play prominent roles in the briefing, moderating discussions and speaking about their respective areas of healthcare expertise.
They include Sir David Nicholson (former chief executive, National Health Service, UK, and director, David Nicholson Healthcare Solutions Limited, and chair of WISH Universal Health Coverage Forum 2014); Victor Dzau (president, National Academy of Medicine, and chair of WISH Precision Medicine Forum 2016); Peter Pronovost (senior vice-president for patient safety and quality, director of the Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality, Johns Hopkins Medicine, and chair of WISH Patient Safety Forum 2015); and Mark McClellan (director of the Robert J Margolis Centre for Health Policy and the Margolis Professor of Business, Medicine and Health Policy, Duke University, and chair of WISH Accountable Care Forum 2013 and 2016).
Additionally, the event will bring together more than 150 leading international figures from academia, non-government organisations and the media.
